Emergency — What To Do
Full policy: Emergency Procedures manual (H&S Coordinator holds the complete version). This page covers what to do in the moment.
- Stop Shooting
- Call “STOP SHOOTING” loudly.
- All bows down.
- Make the range safe.
- Assess
- Is someone injured or unwell?
- Are they conscious and breathing?
- Do not move the person unless in immediate danger.
- Call for Help
- 📞 DIAL 111
- Location: Tauranga Archers — Graham Park, Takitimu Drive, Judea, Tauranga by the Waihi Road Substation.
- Follow the operator’s instructions.
- Assign one person to stay on the phone.
- Provide Access
- Ambulance access: via Takitimu Drive → 11th Ave slip road (parking by the substation).
- Gate key: inside the clubrooms, pink lanyard on the wall.
- Assign someone to meet and guide emergency services. 1 Person by the substation entrance and 1 by the gate to use the path.
- First Aid
- Provide first aid only if trained.
- First Aid Kit: inside clubrooms, shelf on the left as you walk in.
- Keep the person calm and warm.
- Emergency Contacts
- If required:
- Check the printed course roll if accessible.
- Check Emergency Contacts on the person’s own phone.

- Coach and Key Contacts can be found in the Red Emergency folder located on the Club Day Table and in the store rooms on the H&S board.
- Use the club’s Infoodle APP and search the Directory if able.
- After the Incident
- Ensure that an incident report is completed. (Form link below)
- This will trigger a notification to the required executive via email for follow up action.
⚠️ Important
- When in doubt, call 111 early.
- Do not restart shooting.
- Do not speculate or post on social media.
