Your Authority

• You control the shooting line — full stop.
• Your safety decisions are final while you’re on duty.
• Coaches don’t override you, even mid-lesson.

Line Control

• Keep full visibility of everyone on the line.
• Correct unsafe actions (sky draw, dry firing) immediately.
• Lost control? Pause shooting and reset.

Stop Shooting Immediately If

• A person or animal enters the danger area.
• Equipment failure creates risk.
• Behaviour is unsafe or uncontrolled.
• Weather turns dangerous.
• A medical or welfare issue occurs.

Handover

• Handover must be confirmed — never assume someone’s taken over.
• The incoming RO must confirm they’re ready before you step back.

Emergency

• Stop shooting, secure the range, provide first aid if trained, delegate someone to call 111 if needed.
