The Interclub Challenge is a competition run from October to April each year, comprising five rounds.
This year, Tauranga Archers has entered three teams.
For each round (roughly one per month), the club organises a day to shoot the modified Canadian 900 round. Any club members who are ANZ members can shoot (as long as they are scored/witnessed by another person), and each archer can only shoot it once per day. We may choose to shoot the modified Canadian 900 multiple times across the month, and then choose the best scores to send in. Please note: all submitted scores must have been shot on the same day.
Top scorers on the day make up the teams for the club. If you have one team entered, then the top three scorers make the team for that round. If you have two teams entered, then the top three scorers make the “A” team and the next highest three make the “B” team.
Each archer can only shoot for one club in the season.
Teams will compete in divisions, with six teams per division. There were 6 divisions last season. New clubs/teams start in the bottom division. At the end of the season, the winner of each division is promoted to a higher division, and the lowest-ranked team in each division is demoted. If any teams pull out of the competition, then extra teams will be promoted to fill any gaps in the divisions.
Dates for this season’s rounds are below:
- Round One: 1st October 2026 – 30th November 2026
- Round Two: 1st December 2026 – 31st January 2027
- Round Three: 1st February 2027 – 28 February 2027
- Round Four: 1st March 2027 – 31st March 2027
- Round Five: 1st April 2027 – 30th April 2027
Each round shoots the same modified Canadian 900 round, as detailed in the rules.
Interclub Challenge Rounds
The Archery NZ Interclub Challenge uses a modification of the Canadian 900 round with different target faces, plus several modified shorter rounds, to accommodate a range of categories.
Specific rules for this competition are found in the Competition (Tournament) Rules.
These rounds use ten-zone scoring, with two practice ends at the longest distance only. No sighting ends are permitted at distances 2 and 3 during the shoot. Distances must be shot in descending order.
