It’s been another productive month for the Club, with several important projects progressing behind the scenes.

Following the recent Special General Meeting, we are now implementing a number of governance and membership changes, continuing work on our updated operational policies and procedures, and preparing for several exciting activities and competitions over the coming months.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support the Club through volunteering, coaching, attending events and helping create a welcoming environment for all archers.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Special General Meeting held on 23 August 2026.

All motions presented to members were successfully passed.

This included:

• Constitutional amendments required by Inland Revenue.
• Changes to the Club’s membership structure.
• Updated membership fees.

The Executive Committee would like to thank members for their support and engagement throughout the process.

The new membership structure and pricing approved at the Special General Meeting is now being implemented.

Memberships will now run from the member’s join date rather than the traditional 1 April to 31 March membership year.

Existing members will transition using the commencement date of their current membership or 31 March 2027, whichever is later.

Updated membership information is available on the Club website.

Tauranga City Council is currently scheduled to commence refurbishment works on the clubrooms from approximately 21 September 2026.

The project includes:

• Accessibility improvements.
• A new accessible toilet.
• Roofing improvements.
• Internal refurbishment.
• Improved natural lighting.

During the construction period, Club equipment and supplies will be temporarily relocated into storage trailers to allow the works to proceed safely. The toilets/water will not be available while works are underway.

Club days and normal shooting activities will continue as usual throughout the project. Equipment required for Club activities will remain available and will be operated from the temporary storage trailer while the refurbishment is underway.

We appreciate the investment being made into the facility and will continue to keep members updated as the project progresses.

Summer operating hours begin from 1 October 2026.

• The first summer club day will be:
  ​Sunday 4 October 2026 10:00am – 1:00pm

We look forward to seeing everyone enjoying the longer days and warmer weather.

The Winter Layout will remain in place until the Council refurbishment works have been completed. Once the building works are finished, the range will be moved across to the approved Summer Layout.

Don’t forget to register for these upcoming ECBOPAA Events.

• Clout – Whakatane Archery Club – 26 Oct (Labour Weekend)
• Field – Napier – 28 Nov

The ECBOPAA Summer Postal Competition will be starting again shortly.

This is a great opportunity for members of all experience levels to participate in a friendly competition while continuing to shoot at Tauranga Archery Club. Whether you’re new to competition archery or a regular competitor, the Postal provides an excellent way to measure your progress throughout the season.

• Entry fee: $10 per archer, per bow type
• Enter as many bow types as you wish
• Each bow type requires a separate entry

Full details, classes, dates, entry information and results sheets are available on the Club website shortly.

If you’ve been thinking about trying competition archery, the Summer Postal is one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to get started.

Entries are now open for the Tauranga Archers 720 Tournament.

• Date: Saturday 21 November 2026

The tournament is open to archers looking for a fun and competitive day of shooting and is a great opportunity for newer archers wanting to gain tournament experience.

The Club has now successfully transitioned from Sporty to our new membership and event management system, Infoodle.

This provides improved membership administration, event registrations and communication tools for the Club.

As part of this transition, a completely refreshed Club website has been developed and is now live.

The new website will provide:

• Easier access to club information.
• Improved event information and registrations.
• Better member communications.
• Support for future member services and online features.

Club merchandise, including Club shirts, trousers and other apparel, will also be available through the website soon. More information will be provided once everything is finalised.

If you have not yet joined our Members Facebook group, here is the link. Remember to answer all the questions though, else your request may be declined. Not everyones porofile matches your membership information so in these cases, it will be declined.
