We are here at the end of the year, well almost. This will be the last newsletter until Feb next year.

Thank you all for an amazing year. The club has seen quite a bit of growth this year in many areas, not just in the number of members.

Below are a number of updates for you. So please do read through and register for the events as we would love to see you there.

Last event of the year

Our last club day will be on Sunday 21 Dec. To celebrate the year and because we can there will be a fun shoot followed by a BBQ for everyone. Distances will be all available targets from 15-70m so this is for everyone to enjoy, very loosly based on the St Nicholas Shoot with 60 arrows each.

Maintenance Workshop

There is more to Archery than shooting your bow.
Learn how to maintain your equipment.

We are happy to announce that our first workshop for 2026 is on 31 Jan 26 from 10am – 1pm (approx).

This workshop is aimed at anyone who is a current club member who wants to learn more about the following topics and will cover both Recurve and Compound bows as much as we can. This will greatly benefit those with their own gear or who are looking at getting their own gear shortly.

• Tuning your bow
• String repair
• Arrow Repair
• Bow Maintenance
• Arrow Selection

Currently this workshop will not include any normal coaching. Additional workshops later in the year will be introduced at the intermediate level of shooting.

Some topics may be swapped out if required.

If you have skills in Archery Maintenance that you feel could be of benefit please also register and complete the ‘Can you help’ section. We will then be in contact with you with what this may look like.

New Stuff & other Updates

New Equipment

Our new targets are here and they are being installed into the frames closest to the road. Check them out on Sunday.

We also have some new club arrows and arm guards arriving in the next week to replace some of our other worn equipment.

Private Bookings

These last few months have been busy for the coaching team.  We have had a number of private events for various organisations, ranging from Scouts, clubs and other corporates where we have introduced those attending to Archery. The events have been very well received.

Beginners Courses

Our Beginners Course has proven to be very successful this year and it has turned out some great archers with our new membership structure.

From April next year our Beginners course will increase in price to $45.

Club ILF Gear – Finger Tabs & Arm Guards

The club ILF gear is being well used during the Beginners course and by club members during club days which is great to see. When we purchased these earlier in the year, the bags included the finger tab and arm guard but for a couple of reasons including hygiene, we are changing how these two items work for 2026.

We will be removing these from the bags and archers will now need to provide their own finger tab. For the Beginners course, this will need to be the split finger shelf type.

We will hold a stock of both items in a few sizes for purchase from the club in the new year.

The club arm guards and glove tabs will still be available from the general box for club day use.
